OPINION RE: OPERATION JAMMEH MUST GO IN 2006 By VOICE OF THE OPPRESSED

---------------------------------

December 23, 2005
Dear Editor,

May I respond to Ms. Mariama Ceesay's email concerning our opinion entitled: "Operation Jammeh must go in 2006".

My Dear and wonderful sister Mariama Ceesay,

First, you sound like an agent and Strong supporter of Yaya Jammeh, which is all right. You have the right to support anyone. But I hope if you are going to support anyone, let it be based on truth. We really don't have much time to respond to such email. But let me do it for your sake on behalf of the seven strong members of the Voice of the Oppressed. Just to mention few points from your email:

1. You mentioned about respect. There is nothing disrespectful from our mail. We speak the truth. Let me put you through the word RESPECT which you said we lack. It came from two Latin words RE and SPECTO. RE means again and SPECTO means to look. There are many people who came into position of power and leadership and started well, but because of the hypocrisy and praising of those around them they started to swerve from the truth and the purpose for which they were elected. The president has greatly deviated from that purpose. Therefore, he is not worthy for us to look back to him for true leadership. My dear sister Mariama, One thing you age suffering from and many Gambians is the lack of current information or awareness of what is happening. There are many atrocities taking place in this country that if the truth is made manifest, that will make a dog stuck its tail under its leg and run. Who would have thought that a Gambia would have the heart to shoot and kill another Gambian
without any remorse? Maybe you are living well from the crumbs of APRC, and none of your family members are ill affected that is why you condone what is going on in this country. But as patriotic Gambians, We don't want to live happily whiles the people are suffering.

2. You mentioned about him being chosen by Allah (God). Well that's true. Hitler was also chosen by Allah (God). Pol Pot was chosen by Allah (God). Pharaoh was also chosen by Allah (God) but yet He sent Musa (Moses) to drive him away.

Dear sister, to help you out, This is some of your misunderstanding of preaching or the word of God. Read the Quran. Allah said: He gave the human being senses to reason and choose between right and wrong and now it is left to him to decide. If I am a drug user and I over doze myself, the wise Imam or the Priest will not say that: "God called him home". But the fool went home...I am using simple language that will fit your intelligence. You are too cheap to stand in any debate or conscious discussion with our least member.

Lastly, always spell the name of Allah with a capital (A)

Let me stop here. We have no time for blind supporters of Injustice like you. I hope you will not make such silly and cheap comments without truth and proper enlightenment. Don't be upset. We love you. We just want to straighten your head up.

good morning,i would like to inform you guys that even though if you do not support the president you should give him the respect he deserves.going to the net and write all these nonesense cannot solve the problem nor can it make the president to loose his seat come 2006.what is better at the moment is to exercise patient and have respect for each other.you people should know that the position is given to Jammeh by allah and nobody expect allah who can relieve him from the position.if you people are dreaming that NAAD will win this 2006 election then is up to you .
THANKS YOU VERY MUCH

REACTION TO ABDOURAHMANAbdourahman, after reading your peice of advice to Mr. Mbai, I could not sit without writing a rapid response to your baseless and uncalculated letter. i think your piece should have been directed to the daily observer or GRTS. the situation is this, please ask yourself if the progovernment media in the Gambia is sitting on the fence. if the Jammeh administration is fully ready to silence those oppose to his government, it is worthwhile for news media like allgambian to stand and defend our legitimate rights as Gambians. I think you and dictator Jammeh are the ones that should be reminded that the Gambia belongs to over 1.5 million people. Publishing this piece of baseless accusation in the allgambian, goes a long way to inform, uninformed individuals like you that Mr. Mbai and friends are committed to responsible journalism and wholeheartedly respect criticisms from your type even though they can be destructive . Mr. Abdurahman, ask yourself if daily
observer or GRTS would have published your so call piece of advice for Mr. Mbai if it had been directed to them. Brother man, you should not be reminded that 1 plus 1 equals 2. By this I mean that, calculate your moves and put some sense in your writing. Being a strong supporter to the Jammeh administration does not mean that you have to sit on the truth.

Yes, the writing of Mr. Mbai and colleagues will be disheartening to you, because you do not seem to have the Gambia at heart. You are very right if you say that Jammeh has been voted in by the majority, but it is also conspicuous to the eye that Jammeh has betrayed the trust Gambians have bestowed on him. Please i would like to remind you and Jammeh that, we Gambians elected leaders to serve us and not to maltreat and abuse the patriotic and selfless Gambians. I rest my case.

Mass R.O Cham
