I agree Ebrima does not have to verify anything that his sources send him.

My deduction from this episode, if one may call it that, is that Ebrima's
sources sometimes "speculate".
One therefore do not have to take all Ebrima's sources' forwardings as the
gospel truth, because the facts sometimes get "modulated" when they
"speculate".
Some sort of  "demodulation" will sometimes be required to get the facts
from the "modulated" speculation.
