> Jane,

I am sorry but Aziz Willan mentioned here is an artist in a different way.
He is in the domain of publicity both in the radios and the gambian TV. He
is a 'vocal' artist' if may frame it that way. As for Comrade Sillah, most
of his artwork is immovable structures (symbolic sculpturs) and graphic
designs. He used to draw images for magazines sensitizing on AIDS and other
social issues. He has also drawn images for teaching materials. Above all,
he was an art lecturer at the Gambia College for several years. He can be
called a pionner and a connaiseur of ARTS in The Gambia. I am sure that is
why Aziz Willan gave that testimony.

Hope this helps.
Another thing. Gambian artist, with the help of the National Council for
Arts and Culture in The Gambia, 'were' studying the possiblity of putting in
place an online catalogue of Artists from The Gambia. Hopefully soon this
will materialise!!!
