All those who have requested application forms for the fellowship programme
have either received them or are on their way, except one. I hope to hear
from this prospective applicant with the street address requested. DHL
(Abidjan) does not deliver to P.O.Box numbers. Don't ask me why. This year's
prospective Gambian candidates are twice that of last year's; so the
competition would be interesting to watch from a safe distance. I wish you
all the best of luck. Since the deadline for submission is 25th July, I
cannot take further responsibility of mailing forms to new entrants.

Momodou Jasseh is the medical demographer I referred to in my progress
report. Mr. Jasseh worked at the Family Planning Association and not the MRC
as initially reported. He
returned to Banjul after his Masters but "returned
back to the same University (London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine)after being awarded "best student" prize during his Masters.
Momodou looks "forward to serving the Gambia, and the African continent,
after completing his Doctorate studies. It may of interest to you, Mr.
Jasseh, to know that I also heard from Thomas Forster in New Zealand setting
the record straight. Mr. Jasseh we are really proud of your performance at
LSHTM and your determination to return to serve.
