Hello Ebrima,
The thieves are at it again. This time it is Baba Jobe's turn to
purchase a Kotu villa belonging to Hameh Kebbeh, nominated Member
of the National Assembly. He, Baba, bought the property for 600,000 dalasi
from Kebbeh.
You will recall that during the transition period, Hameh Kebbeh was a
subject of the Commission of Enquiry and after he was "disgraced", he came
crawling before the Dictator of Kanilai. He has since been co-opted into the
corrupt regime and subsequently nominated as Member of the National
Assembly.
Now, Ebrima, imagine this: Baba Jobe, an assistant Secretary at the Office
of the President with a monthly salary of a little over 1000 dalasi being in
the position to purchase a villa that is worth 600,000 dalasi. The level of
corruption that exists in the Jammeh regime has never been seen in the
thirty-odd years of our Independence.
