These group of military officers are Yahya Jammeh's State Guards Security.
He has tried to use the army and they refused to be used and now he has
resorted to using his henchmen. This sort of behavior will not be
tolerated and will definitely come to an end soon.

The leaders of the UDP led alliance have tried to avoid confrontation with
the APRC thugs to no avail. Even yesterday's commotion in serekunda would
have been more serious had the leadership of the alliance not taken the
extraordinary step of diverting their route to avoid confrontation. Yahya
Jammeh was not supposed to be where he was but he intentionally went there
to obstruct Ousainoiu Darboe and his supporters' triumphant return to the
Kombos after and very successful campaigning from the provinces. Yahya and
his supporters had to be ordered to leave the area by the IEC. Even then
they just move to another area of the main Serekunda-Brikama road.

These are some of the things the Alliance had said in their press release
that Yahya Jammeh and his supporters were planning to try to thwart the
election on Thursday. Gambians will not stand for this kind of selfishness
any longer.

Later,
Yahya N. Darboe
