Folks,

On behalf of Joann Sanneh, Fatuma and the entire family, I thank you all
for wishing her well in her new assignment. I will pass on all private and
public messages to her. All the credit goes to this wonderful young lady
and her mother for making us all proud.

I think that the men of this world should first admit that they have failed
miserably, then gracefully retire and let the women take complete charge of
cleaning the mess that we men-folk have created for generations ahead.

Good to hear from you HeHeeeHeee from beautiful downtown Vancouver. Katim
and Basil (whom I still owe a report) have volunteered to provide a bull
each. What Basil fail to mention is that an abstract of his excellent PhD
Thesis is scheduled for publication by the African Development Report of
the AfDB - a very good start indeed. Congrats to you too, Basil. Yus, I
hope you have cleared your employment offer with Boss. Both your mother and
your late Dad are/were not only personal friends but have contributed to
the intellectual development of Fatuma. She has fond memories of both.
Habib, what can I say except to thank you , Hania, Amira and the rest of
the Ghamin family for the friendship that exists for a gneration or two.
Ola, Fatuma was only a year only when you visited us in Madison, so it
could not have been moons ago. I feel old already despite Mr. Dampha's
deduction that I beleive is meant to make those in my age category feel
better. To Fatuma's school/class mates at Marina and GHS, I wish you every
success in your young careers and continue to keep your eyes on the ball.
Jabou, Fatuma will be more than happy to offer counsel to your daughter
Amie. Aunty Soffie, Amie Bojang-Sissoho, Jabou and Mini you ought to just
take the political ball and run with it. You can, at least, count on one
solid supporter. Oussou Njie Senor, while the bulls are being prepared for
the slaughter house, you can start warming up to the tune of "Banjul, sunu
rew, sopa nanla ndahh chi yoww lang judo " as was requested by one of the
patients at Campama during our last visit there together.(My personal
favourite has always been "Suma Yandeh Njie, Kai Why" - my regards to a
wonderful person). For those of you who have not been to Banjul lately,
Campama has been really spruced up beyong recognition. Thanks to your
efforts Oussou, George, TAF, and many more too numerous to mention
individually. Malanding Jaiteh and family, Rene Badjan (I have not heard
from you for some time now. Has Mrs. Badjan joined you in the US? and how
far have you gotten with your manuscript?), Modou Olly-Mboge (I will pass
on your message to Morro), Saul Mbenga, Comrade Jassey-Conteh, Ousainou
Ngum ( you've raised the bar a bit too high for me, please lower it a
little to minimise failing to meet your expectations), Hamjatta, I meant to
tell you that our mutual friend Eddie Sidibeh (you remember him) is/has
been doing valuable research work at the Department of Tourism. I
introduced him to Bai Ousman Secka who provided working space etc. Eddie is
a good man and deceptively intelligent. Pa Modou Gassama, I will extend
your well wishes to Fatuma. We used to be neighbours at Latrikunda during
the period of the Kukoi fiasco. George Sarr, thanks for the kind words and
my regards to your wife and the little one. To all those that I might
have left out, it is not deliberate but because of the sheer volume of
mail. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Fatuma will get all
your messages after she has been sworn-in next week to uphold and defend
the Constitution of the United States of America, so help her GOD.

Sidi Sanneh
