Margaret Keita sacked Written by DO Wednesday, 15 June 2005 In another dramatic move, President Jammeh, yesterday sacked his finance Secretary of State, Margaret Keita. No reasons have been advanced for her sacking but a terse statement on GRTS, said she has been replaced by Alieu Ngum, formerly secretary general and head of the civil service.
Again it is not yet known who replaces Mr Ngum. Until her sudden removal, Margaret Keita, was among the latest female Secretaries of State to serve in President Jammeh’s recent cabinet reshuffle.

Widely regarded as strong disciplinarian, Madame Keita was one time accountant general.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources have hinted that the former Secretary of State was visited by investigators from the National Intelligence Agency, NIA.
