I find it a little bit ironical that after fighting so hard to get the
decree 89 repealed, the unbanned politicians have remained virtually mute
since July 22nd . I'm sure it would be very useful for all of us if they
could atleast make some specific pronouncements about their allegiance if
any to a particular opposition party.
Rekindling any of the parties of the first Republic sounds futile to me . So
I believe that the most constructive game plan at this 11th hour would be to
rally to the most popular party , the party most likely to pull the most
votes against APRC. And if the results of the last presidential elections
are anything to go by, we could safely suggest that UDP be the party to
welcome back these veteran politicians.
The earlier we move on with real business of campaigning on a common front
and platform, the better out chances of defeating Jammeh regime and
revamping the smiling coast.
