There is no plausible scenario in which Yahya Jammeh can win the elections of
October 18. He is also having to contend with the equally certain fact that
he cannot do anything to alter his impending defeat. He is facing a popular,
tough and determined opposition who will uphold the Gambian people's verdict
at all cost. There will not be a situation in which the will of the majority
of our people would be subverted by an amalgamation of thugs. No amount of
money, overt or covert threats and silly pronouncements would stand on the
people's determined path to a destiny worthy of them. This election is being
fought on the very crucial issues of the dignity, freedom and overall well
being of The Gambian people. Having been denied all of these in the past
seven years, our people would most definitely not be cowered by the antics of
a bunch of people who are essentially murderers and thugs.
Throughout the length and breadth of our country the beleaguered
citizens have mustered all their remaining energy sometimes waiting up to the
wee hours of the morning to meet opposition politicians. Beyond the crucial
bread and butter issues, they often express strong indignation at the
criminal and heavy hand of the Jammeh regime that has saddle them with every
imaginable shade of repression. They bitterly complain about imposed edicts
arbitrarily and often times maliciously enforced by goons of the regime.
Their routine lives as Gambians have over these years become increasingly
intolerable because the government has morphed into a giant whip wickedly
aimed at them. They rightly believe that this government has ruined their
lives and is further determined to make them collective paupers in their own
country.
As the fateful day draws nearer, Yahya and his band of thugs would try
their hand at every thing they believe can even remotely perpetuate them. It
will be for naught. They will loose the election outright. And they will be
out of there pronto.
Karamba
