It is nice to see you around more often. I am sure Baba must be giving you
some break these days. My best regards to the whole family. And as you said,
I also hope that no one gets so offended because of your view on things as
they unfold.
I must say I agree with most of your points you made. I personally took sides
the moment I sensed a PPP comeback. This is not how most people might see the
case though. I still maintain that position.
It is true that the APRC ran a better campaign and that must be respected.
Accepting it is a matter of choice of course. I have been following Pa
Manneh's insights on elections very well, and I must admit they are eye
openers for me. Despite he is from Brufut.
I am one of the few who felt that no matter who wins, the other will say the
elections were not free and fair, and it would not have mattered whether they
were or not.
However, some of the people who voted for President Jammeh secondary to
sensing a PPP come back as Aunty Jabou suggested that they could have voted
for the other oppositions. None of the other parties made that point to the
electorates. I always think this is one point the Gambians in the Diaspora
failed to realize. The voters who voted and were on the ground are more
politically aware and sophisticated that those of us who all we do is
shouting and insulting and being personal on the Gambia-L.
I pray and hope that the country will be stable and some of us in the
Diaspora will learn our lessons too. Especially those on the L who at times
gets so personal on issues. The Gambia belongs to all of, so trying to
"silence" others here is the last thing one need to call for. It is obvious
that some of us WILL never go back home to stay, but the debates here tells
us that we still have a very good heart for our mother land. So that is very
positive.
Keep your such VERY objective comments coming. we need people like you. This
is what the Gambia needs.

Ousman Jallow Bojang.
