The people of Buduck were dumbfounded at the mystery surrounding the death and burial of the great marabout of
the region, Alhaji Momodou Jobe, popularly known as Cherno.
Marabout Jobe who died last week Saturday was reported to have worn a white robe, spiritually transported
himself to graveyard already dug two years ago and was covered up by his youngest son, Sulayman Jobe.

The marabout was said to have confided in Sulayman Jobe, and gave him instructions as to how he should be
buried a short while before his death.

According to family members, the marabout asked Sulayman to meet him at the graveyard after a few minutes,
when he would already be in the grave in order to cover his dead body.

The late marabout is said to have lived a holy and spiritual life throughout his 100 years and urged followers
to seek knowlegde and fight poverty.
His death was not known by villagers until the day after he buried himself.
Eyewitness said hundreds of villagers and other gathered at the late marabout house.
Some of his fervent followers say the late marabout has left them with strict teachings, dictates and the ways
of life of Prophet Muhammad.

"His simplicity and war against fanatism were teachings that governed his daily live. His simple way of life
is evidenced in his association with people as he was always seen under a common platform with the ordinary
villagers," one village said.

Another of his mysterious achievements was his abilty to turn into farmland, part of the Bintang Bulong river
where residents now cultivate rice.
