The message below is from Deyda Hydara of the Point who is experiencing
problems posting directly to the Gambia-L and has asked me to post it on
his behalf.

Tombong,

Your perception is wrong. The Net is perceived as a means of nullifying
censorship and you say people should not use materials from it. Are you
advocating for censorship in the net? Now you said all newspapers here do
it and I am obliged to clarfy as far as The Point is concerned. I have
lifted two to three postings on ISLAM by Musa Pembo which I published for
the interest of our Muslim readers and I attributed the piece to Musa Pembo
respecting one of our fundamental rules. I have also lifted a piece on the
chances of Senegal and Nigeria in the last world cup and I again attributed
the piece to its author, Yusupha Jow.

Of course, we cannot publish all what you post in our newspapers because
unlike you we have to publish in accordance with the media laws in this
country. We would avoid sedition, libel, false information and the like.

Peace brother

DH
