Dr. Jeng,
Thanks for the advice. In fact I was going to ask if there were any yearly
statistics with regards to irrigated land from independent until 2001 to see if
it has been any significant progress at any given time.

Your statement below shows the importance of statistics and I could not have
said it better.
"..one of the most urgent needs of our country is reliable statistics.
