For all those concerned about the direction our country is headed, I would encourage them to listen to the interview of Imam Fatty and Bakausu Fofana, courtesy of Freedom Radio. The Gambia is proud of its illustrious and enlightened Islamic heritage. However, from the interview, one feels like a new TALIBANISTAN is in the making. A religious authority determining, on the pain of "excommunication", when and how Gambians should observe their religious obligations. Both ordinary citizens and concerned Muslims must be worried at the powers claimed by the Islamic council.
