My children do not despair
I have not forsaken you.

You have with  reckless abandon
carry your tears  across the ocean
and cry in the desolate streets faraway
I can only hear your moans and groans.

But I will lavishly prepare the banquet table
the drums with sit idle waiting for the morn
and the dancers in their regalia ready
my children will be home and a new day born.

My children do not despair
I have not forsaken you.

My heart is heavy like a metal
when I see you quarrel with each other
your inheritance at the mercy of your squabbles
I see you angry, bitter, divisive and hateful
I see you scattered and in disarray
you must find your bearing and not be vengeful.

My children do not despair
I have not forsaken you.

I will give you a new start
your inheritance to each equal
none will a portion be greater
and the rest a silver spoon not on their platter.
