A SELECT WORKSHOP TO BE HELD AT THE BUNGALOW BEACH HOTEL ON SATURDAY
27TH JANUARY ,2001.

LIST MEMBERS,
You are cordially invited  to the above select workshop.The workshops
aim is to bring together a group of senior representatives from a wide
range of public, private and non -governmental backgrounds to discuss
how all three sector can work together on sustainable tourism project
<stps>.
The initiative is being promoted by a small group of people who intend
to work together on a particular project that will revitalize the  River
Gambia. In the first instance, however, it is important to discuss the
principles involve in what is a complex triumvirate. Ecco is an NGO
already working on community based projects. The private sector is
represented by a group of entrepreneurs- already in tourism-who are
members of ASSET<The Association of Small Scale Enterprises in Tourism
and who are keen to work with local communities. Working under the
umbrella of Gambia River Excursions this group has formed themselves
into !sustainable Tourism Consultants! <stc>
ECCO,ASSET and STC would be delighted if you would join us at the
workshop. It is a morning meeting only, and excellent lunch will be
served, and you will have an opportunity to see a beautiful tourism film
!Samba lives in Africa ! which has been entered for an eco-tourism
award.
We hope the outcome of the workshop will be a Declaration of intent by
the participants to support the initiatives being taken. We do hope you
will be able to join us.
