The sunken eyes
are deep as a well
their sensual ebullience
gone and
staring vaguely
at the angel of death
the emaciated body
like the skeletal remains
of a starfish
writhes in pain and agony
yearning to grasp
the last dying breathe
the tired limbs and feeble toes
eternally rested.
The hand slits
and become immersed in blood
the deeds of the past
witness the pains of the present
and death frowns
at the moans and groans
the teary hollow eyes haunted
and beneath the bed
of earthly riches and power
and beneath the bed
of wicked hands and evil faces
rages the fury tongues
of wagging fingers
and clench-fisted angry demons.
Come, and
come you angel of death
grant that we die
peacefully in our slumber
without pain or agony
and a graceful prayer in our lips.
