Hi folks,

Interesting stuff I found. Do you know who designed Dakar's Grande Mosque?
This and other questions are addressed in this interesting page of links about
architecture in Senegal. The page is at:

        http://www.archnet.org/library/places/one-place.tcl?place_id=1398

You can also check out other related links about Islamic architecture at:

        http://www.archnet.org/library/index.tcl

As an example, the Discussion Forum includes a question about the need (or lack
thereof) to retain design elements such as minarets ("sorror" in Wollof) in a
mosque in an age when technological developments (e.g. the loudspeaker) has made
them functionally irrelevant.

I thought you'd enjoy this as "light" weekend reading. Enjoy!

Katim
