Mr. Jallow:

I want to applaud you on your recent posting to Mr. Halifah Sallah. Your
initiative in advocating for leadership is a defining moment in our struggle
for political democracy. A leader must be a visionary and willing to
compromise on substantive issues, especially when he or she knows who the
real enemy is.

The fitna moron of Kaninlai must have a feel day at any given moment when the
opposition does not speak in one voice. It is tragic that politics is taken
as a self endeavor my some members of the opposition. Our cry for unity is
not a condemnation for a sect of political aspirants, but a clear indication
of maturity and willingness in setting the Gambia's interest first. We
cannot afford to revisit the tragic and chronic lack of proper initiative in
running the affairs of our country. One must be out of touch with reality to
fantasize the dictator's willingness for a free and fair elections. This
dictator has no intention of leaving the Gambia. A united opposition is a
prescription for the dictator's chronic disease. Our failure to unite will
cause epidemic and incurable disease.

The struggle at this moment must be coupled with some financial assistance
for the opposition. Our intellectual know how and ability to be creative in
planning a strategic alliance will be a detriment to the butcher of Kaninlai.
We, here in North Carolina have formed GamCarolina. We meet every last
Sunday of each month to collect contributions from our members. We know no
language, tribe, religion or regional doctrine. We believe in a free and
democratic Gambia. We intend to raise funds for the opposition. Please send
contributions payable to GamCarolina, C/O
ML Jassey-Conteh, VF Corporation, 414 N. Church Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.

I have personally taken the initiative in asking 1000 people to contribute
$10 each. I will come up with the balance if I do not meet my target of
$10,000. This is a personal crusade that I owe to the Gambian.

Long live democracy and down with dictator fitna masibo jakading yahya jemus.

Naphiyo,

comrade ML Jassey-Conteh
