APRC in Crisis in SK Central

By Arafang Mama Darboe

Barely 50 days to the by-elections in Serekunda Central, the APRC party is said to have once again been confronted with the intricate problem of selecting a candidate to run under its ticket for the September by-elections.

According to sources, an unexpected number of more than five candidates have so far expressed their intention to vye in the impending by-election under the APRC ticket.

“This has a potential of undermining the party’s capability of winning the constituency’s seat,” pointed out our source.

Our sources said the party is currently busy putting its house in order so as to forestall the debacle that rocked it in the last legislative elections.

Meanwhile, in his recent address to a rally in Serekunda, the Secretary of State for Agriculture and the APRC National Mobiliser, Yankuba Touray, said that the APRC party would not impose any candidate on the constituents of Serekunda Central, noting that it is the responsibility of the people to choose their own candidate.
