I totally agree with the stand taken by the family of the late MP Kassama.
This madness of deliberately doing one thing, and then attempting to cover it
over by cheap forms of compensation is an insult to people's intelligence.

It is not surprising that these people think that money will take care of
everything. They certainly believe this themselves, but the rest of the
people do not have to subscribe to it. It is nothing but lack of
intelligence, insecurity to the extent of fearing their own shadows that led
to this senseless decision not to let these gentlemen lie in state. Perhaps
also, they have other more sinister and darker reasons of their own, who
knows.

When one does not do or say the right thing under any circumstance, it is
easy to see how they can come to the conclusion that any honour extended to
anyone else other than themselves becomes a threat. The refusal to extend this
simple honour to these fellow Gambians even in death is another clear
evidence of the lack of understaning of how to go about even the simplest of
tasks by this clueless regime.
