                                  Appeal to Sheriff Bojang -OPINION LETTER

  Every year since the April 10th and 11th students demonstration in Banjul, we have always found one way or the other to remember those who were killed, the students and journalist Omar Barrow. This is an incident that we always want to remember, people we never want to forget. 

It is because of this that I have decided to write to appeal to the former Managing Director of the Daily Observer, Sheriff Bojang to help us keep the memory of Omar Barrow by giving the money that was collected from donors after Omar's untimely death to Omar's family.

Omar's wife, daughter(Fatou) and his Mother have all tried to get Sheriff and those who were in charge of the monies collected to give them the money but up to this day, they have not received a dime of that money. When I was in The Gambia in 2004, I contacted Sheriff several times on this matter and asked him hand over to money to the Barrow family and he had at that point promised to do so.

However, this has not been the case, I call on all who have the interest of keeping the memory of Omar alive by calling on Sheriff Bojang where ever he is to give that money back to the Barrow family. The only way we can be able to truly remember and keep Omar alive within us is to contribute towards the welfare of his daughter, Fatou.
