Folks, please join the Midwest Gambian Association as they host their fourth
annual Labor Day conference on August 31 and September 1, in Chicago
Illinois. The theme for the conference is: West Africa's Political and
Economic Position in the Global Landscape - How is Gambia Doing? We have in
line four Panelist: DRs. Michael Ba Banutu Gomez, Rowan University,
Abdoulaye Saine, Miami of Ohio University, Amadou Scatter Janneh, University
of Tennessee, and Nnam Nkuzzi, Dominican University. We also have Mr.
Abdoulaye Ndiaye with The McArthur Foundation to present an overview of what
his organization offers and how a country like Gambia can capitalize on the
opportunities. The conference and Gala will be on August 31 and the
BBQ/Picnic and Soccer will be held on Sunday. Please help us spread the
word and all are invited. I shall provide more details on the weekend
events, times and directions, after our Saturday meeting. In the mean time,
I will appreciate it if the following Gambian Associations' point persons
can contact me privately: Minnesota, Madison, Detroit, Kansas, Ohio,
Indiana, Kentucky, Iowa, etc. This list is not by any means exhaustive and
if your organization is not mentioned please make yourself known. The last
time Ohio was left out because we were not aware of their existence and we
do not want that to happen again. We also encourage all individuals from
other states, out of the country etc. to attend to discuss our situation and
come up with ways of changing our direction. This conference is not
partisan so please feel welcomed and it is for Gambians and all friends of
Gambia. Hope to see you at the conference. Thank you for your support.

Chi Jaama

Joe Sambou
