Malanding,
The first question that came to my mind when I read about this new responsibility of the National Road Authority (NRA); where are they going to get the money from? I believe the yearly road tax being paid by the vehicle owners in The Gambia is definitely not enough for the maintenance and consumption of electricity of those lights.
Lets hope that the executive is not thinking of using the EDF?s (The European Development Fund) funds for paying street lights because those funds are earmarked for certain road projects in the country.

Perhaps BCC, KMC and BAC could be able to take their responsibility in paying the bill if they stop using the tax payers money on APRC festivities:-)
