I hope the Ramadan is going fine with you and the whole family. I am
sure the kids are enjjoying the new environment.
Anyway, I see the point you are trying to make. Sure President Jammeh
is trying. I am not sure if you read the posting Jungle forwarded to
the List? It was sent after yours anyway.
I believe the presidnet is trying and he need people around him to get
to what he desires for the nation which I am sure all as Gambians
desires. All of us may have different ways in getting to it, but I
think we all want the best.
On "abusing" the powers as you alledged, I do not think that is what he
did either. When we talk of presidential powers we need to be very sure
of what we are saying. I am not a lawyer, but I am yet to hear anyone
here argue that what he did was abusing his powers. And remember, there
is no where in our constitution that said that he ought to consult with
anyone to nominate or fire his cabinet members. Not that I heard of or
read yet in this room. So when alledges that he abused his power to do
that, I certainly would want to hear how. I am not trying to put a spin
to this, but what Mr. Abdoulie Jallow said is the only fact here. If
the guy is voted in to serve the nation, why can't he be freely allowed
to do what is empowered to him within, and again I repeat, WITHIN the
constitution?
