Baba Mbow was a great soccer model in modern soccer in the Gambia. His
father was the son of Pa Alasan mbow( goldsmith) at Angelsea street
Baba mbow played in the same Crab island school junior team with Sam
Sibi, Muntaga Sallah (Late Nyanga) and Salieu Foon. This time in the
Gambia we were playing one Center half a # 5. Baba was the best center
half in the junior school league. His brothers Ebrima mbow "star" and
Alhagi were all great ball players.in the Gambia school league system
Baba Mbow went to Dakar with The Gambia National school team . Some of
the players were later called Benson & Hedges and later Real of Banjul
He played at Box Bar for few year before knee injury forced him to
retire and moved to coaching. He inspired Badou Foon (ex Real) in ball
controll and passing. He later moved to Serekunda and helped resturcure
the game and brought to kwame Football Club the ball rolling ball
controlling concrpt. Football lost a great man.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE

Oko
