Mr. Touray:
I agree that you did not mention tribalism in your posting. I also want to state categorically that
you may not have been listed when the issue came about. If in fact, if you were listed, you may
have been using a different name.
The issue at hand is your assertion of writing about NADD, which I believe you have every
right to. From the onset, Mr. Darboe was attacked not as a person but as a Mandinka. Now,
Mr. Darboe cannot be blamed for vacating NADD when there were underlying issues
that prevented objectivity. Without mentioning names, several prominent NADD supporters,
including at least one executive members said: "Mandinkas thought they have the right to the presidency."
As far as I am concerned, this was a blatant attack on the right of Mandinkas and every Gambian
seeking the presidency. I cannot support a political party whose representatives are indifferent
to Mandinkas.
While you have a right to support NADD, I also have a right to defend Mr. Darboe. Numerous negative
postings had been written about him.
