Thank you brother Ous and the rest. I fully understand your take on the need for our media houses to thoroughly check their sources, however we have to also understand who we dealing with here. The state's failure to give accurate information in a timely manner has a lot to do with some of the wrong reporting.
Also I think some of the papers intentionally choose to report the wrong information in Imam Leigh's case as a ploy to put pressure on the administration.
I am a strong believer that at this point anything goes when it comes to dealing with jammeh. We sometimes have to play his games and put him on the spot. Slowly he will crack.
In this case he might have released Imam Leigh to prove FNP wrong.
With that said it must be noted that our media houses are doing a great job. The time to play by the strict journalism rule will come when jammeh and his people start treating us with respect and dignity.

What is important now is that, the Imam is free and reunited with the family. The only important element is the that, Gambia media houses need to realise that, the international community are reading and watching us. False claims have the potentials to diminish our resolve in the human rights defender circles.
