Mr Sidibeh:

Al Jazeera seems to be the voice of the Arab populace.

Just recently "60 minutes" - a popular news program around these parts - had
a special on how Al Jazeera was running afoul of Arab governments by taking
them to task about the problems of Islamic fundamentalism in addition to the
undemocratic nature of governance in the Arab peninsula. Turns out that the
governments wanted to muzzle the TV station because they figured these type
of broadcasts would not only infuriate fundamentalists who might strike their
governments but also enlighten the people to the hypocrisy of the Arab world
via a vis their undemocratic nature and fear of the fundamentalist problem

Ironically, the American government - the born defenders of freedom of speech
and such - now want to silence Al Jazeera, the very instrument of Arab media
which wants to enlighten the Arab people.

I ask, who are the losers in this attempt at muzzling Al Jazeera? Where does
Islamic fundamentalism breed and grow? Who encourages it?

More questions than answers?
