Binneh, thanks for your response. We both agree that Yaya is a tribalist
and would use anyone to that end. However, unlike Rwanda, the majority that
are doing Yaya's dirty work are the sycophants that run the whole ethnic
spectrum, thus my mention of Mandinka, Wolof, and Fula, etc., not just
Mandinka alone. I care less what Yaya's ethnicity is, just like I care less
what religion he is. I am not constrained by tribe, religion, friendship,
bloodlines or any of those baseless leanings, thus, I'm surprised by the
insinuation. I also never mentioned a RED anything in my response, so I do
not know why the reference in your response. When you said:

"Majority versus minority feelings feelings that are being provoked by one
leader and HIS FOLLOWERS for political and selfish reasons."

Who are the followers, ARPC or Jolas? I say the followers are APRC, and
they run the entire ethnic spectrum. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

"The nocturnal dances that Yahya organizes at his village every day have an
underlying ethnocentric meaning. He projects those dances on national TV
while other tribes are watching with anger.Journalists are obliged to
concentrate on projecting the traditional displays of one tribe(being his)
on national TV."

We agree on what Yaya does above. However, I'm also saying that the other
tribes that you say are watching are the APRC folks that includes Jolas.
Again, it is not ethnicity but the sycophancy of all around him. Please
correct me if I am mistaken.

"These tribes men use machetes, knives and other things to show other tribes
that they are spiritually powerful and that is appealing which is fuelling
hidden reactions within other circles back home."

Now, we are not talking about Yaya here, but a group. Am I right in that
assumption?

"Why doesn't Yahya invite other tribes and ethnic groups to display and then
he sells that to the outside world as one Gambia?"

Again, we agree that Yaya is a tribalist.

"Within Yahya's own ethnic group there are people who he sees as inferior
because his own immedaitely family geneology are better when it comes to
such magical powers.Yahya's myopic ethno! centric and paternalistic feelings
are meant to provoke an ethnic conflict."

Yes, I agree with your first sentence, that Yaya is a tribalist. However, I
do not see the link in your second, because the sycophants that surround him
are not only Jola, but across all ethnic groups. So, who is going to
conduct the ethnic cleansing for him? I suppose not FJC et al, for they
control what goes on in that country.

Minteh, please understand that there is Yaya as an individual and a Jola,
and there are innocent Jolas that are anti what Yaya stands for, just like
you. What I will challenge is the use of Yaya as a Jola to make spillover
statements that will unduly characterize other Jolas and I would have
reacted if the same was said about any ethnic group. Like I told Elhajj a
while back, there is a difference between discussing Yaya's tribalism and
making tribalistic statements. The former is the description of the
behavior of an individual and the latter is the smearing of a whole group
wrongly. The sycophants that do the damage in Gambia is what is bringing
Gambia down and not Yaya's ethnicity, even though Yaya is a tribalist. The
only way you can have ethnic cleansing is when the entire leadership is from
a homogeneous group. Can you say that about Gambia and those around Yaya?
I also do not think of Gambians in terms of ethnicity and would challenge
any regardless ethnicity, religion, friendship, or blood lines if I disagree
with their position. Mine was not to critisize you but to argue that it is
sycophancy that is destroying us and not Yaya's stupid tribalism, thus my
examples of who is around him.

I also think we have more in common in getting Yaya and the APRC out and
that, you can take to the bank.

Chi Jaama
