So many thanks to each and every one of you for your kind words of "welcome
back home again!!".

Jabou: I note your warning comments about the difficulties of debating with
members of the pro-Jammeh lobby. Thank you for your words of wisdom, and be
assured that I know what to expect! Did you get my messages on your anwswer
phone last week?

M.L. Conteh: I am glad to be back on the L. Some (not all !) Gambians have
a tendency to narrow-mindedness and to wild speculation !! God knows the
reason why I have been silent on the List recently, and this is exactly as I
explained in my previous posting. I hope to be able to visit East Coast
America before the end of the year, and shall look forward to meeting up
with you and other List members, especially my friend and good brother, the
great Kebba Dampha.

In fact, I should be very keen to share my research findings vis-à-vis The
Gambia, with interested Gambian groups in the USA. As for my contribution
to the Opposition Fund, I shall see how I can send something to Joe Sambou
as soon as possible. I shall also talk to Brother Alpha Robinson who was
coordinating the European Fund for the April 10/11th victims, and see
whether it would be easier to contribute through him or through Sister Ndey
Jobarteh in London.

By the way, I have noticed, reading through my mails, that some List
members are interested in reading satire, and as a result, as from tomorrow,
I have decided to spread my wings and indulge in this literary sport myself
!! With all the tensions and stresses of Gambian political issues at the
moment, I feel the need to express myself in a more jocular way from time to
time !!

Actually, writing satire is something I did once in a while in the past, but
from now on I shall also endeavour to contribute satirical postings on the
L, from time to time. Satire is an art-form which mirrors reality from the
point of view of the writer, and I hope that my humble efforts will be
appreciated by some List members.
