Perhaps we are aliens from different solar systems but statements like the
above paraded here in the name of ousting Yayha Jammeh from power seems to
me a onr of the most chilling and irresponsible statements to the line the
face of Gambia-L. But not to question the inclusion of the PPP in the
Alliance and to pretend that Jawara's rule was a thirty-year-long joyride
along Kairaba Avenue (or Nevsky Prospect!) is so gross a delusion as to be
eclipsed only by the severity of the tragic history it fails to acknowledge.

The quest to remove Jammeh from power is a just cause. There is absolutely
no need to engage in peddling imaginative fibbles in defence of the PPP as a
way of bolstering the moral and organizational integrity of the Alliance. Of
course, it is untrue that Jawara brought naught to Gambia. What he and the
PPP left us was a vast and devouring emptiness from which Jemus Jammeh
emerged. Former president Jawara and the PPP are the surrogate parents of
Yahya Jammeh and all that he has done to Gambia. Not to recognise that, much
less question the wisdom of including the PPP in the Alliance is satanic
hypocrisy. I'll rather be damned.
