It seems IEC is doing it's cynical best to precipitate disaster in our
country. We have preliminary reports that voters not on the registers are
indeed queuing up to vote throughout the length and breadth of the country.
This is especially true in Basse where coalition representatives have already
reported cases of such behavior. The coalition has said they will not
countenance the participation of people not legally registered in this
election. The government is looking for the coalition to attempt to
physically prevent such illegal voting and turn around and accuse them of
disrupting the election. This will not in anyway alter the uncompromising
stand of the coalition that only voters on the register would be considered
valid. Responsibility for whatever ensues from the blatant scheme to
disenfranchise the majority of Gambians would rest squarely in the hands of
the IEC and Yahya Jammeh. They are making a fatal mistake if they believe
they can steal this election.
Karamba
