BREAKING NEWS:MYSTERY SURROUNDS THE DEATH OF SOLDIER EBRIMA CAMARA-FOUL PLAY?
While mystery continues to surround the death of former NIA chief Daba Marenah and four other security detainees, another soldier posted at President Jammeh’s home village Kanilai died under mysterious circumstances recently, the Freedom Newspaper, can authoritatively report. Soldier Ebrima Camara of the State Guards recently died at the RVTH amidst reports that he was killed following his refusal to take part in the torture of Daba Marenah and others. While the government is yet to confirm or deny the said revelations, reports also have it that Camara confided with his family prior to his death to narrate how he and other men of the army were assigned to take part in the alleged execution of Daba Marenah and others.

THE LATE DABA MARENA WITH THE KAFTAAN
Camara, the Freedom Newspaper, gathered reportedly refused to take part in the said operation, which sources say led to his arrest. Few days after his disappearance sources went on, the Family of the late soldier received news from The Gambia Armed Forces Command that the soldier suffered gunshots while he and other soldiers were traveling to Kanilai, Gambia’s second state house.
The GAF command reportedly told the soldier’s family that the vehicle Ebrima and others were traveling with somersaulted and in the process his gun fired shots which led to his fatal injury. The Freedom Newspaper, has been investigating the said story for a while now and non of the GAF officials were willing to shed more lights on the death of the soldier. An insider at the GAF headquarters said the soldier sustained gunshots, following an accident, but would not elaborate how the accident occurred. What’s is clear though is that the sudden death of Camara has opened eyebrows among his family. The deceased’s family, this paper gathered suspected foul play, even though the soldier was offered burial by the army in his home village of Baddibu Sabba Sukoto.
A source who spoke to the Freedom Newspaper on condition of strict anonymity commented” Ebrima said he risked being arrested since he refused to execute his superiors command to torture the detainees. Shortly after narrating this sad state of affairs to his family, Ebrima was arrested the following day and whisked away by armed guards. The family were later informed that Ebrima had an accident and was admitted at the RVH.”
According to our source Camara’s family are very upset about the state’s reaction to the death of their loved one. “The family were refused access at the hospital at first, but later allowed. Ebrima told them before his death again that the torture he feared was inflicted on him. The family demanded that the patient be handed over to them for emergency medical treatment, but hospital authorities together with the guards on duty declined the request. Two day later soldier Camara of Sabbah Sukoto of Upper baddibu was pronounced death.” the source added.
The late Ebrima Camara was a former personnel of the defunct National Gendarmerie. Family sources said they believed that their loved one was a victim of foul play as Ebrima did told them prior to his death that he refused to take part in an operation to harm Daba Marenah and others. The government is yet to confirm or deny this incriminating allegations. Unless the GAF head quarters and the state issued their side of the story speculations and counter speculations will continue to rife. What is evident though is that soldier Ebrima Camara is dead. His family are bid apprehensive to the government claims that the soldier was shot by his own gun as the trigger opened fire following an automobile accident. Family members who spoke to this paper refused to come out in the open in fear of their personal safety, but maintained that Camara was a victim of government foul play. Meanwhile, the government is yet to publicize the autopsy report on the death soldier Camara.
