<< Sources could not state the exact reason for Nyabally's arrest,
but it is widely believed that he was busted in connection with remarks he
made against President Yahya Jammeh at the Gambia Technical Training
Institute (GTTI) last Tuesday during a symposium marking the April 10/11
 tragedy. >>

Well, we all read those remarks in that Foroyaa publication that I forwarded
to the L., and they did not contain any major threats to anyone or the
country.

Yaya Jammeh issues more threats of bodily harm to Gambians with each speech
he gives, and yet, he is still walking around free. However, everyone is fully
aware by now that truth, decency and competence are considered as major
threats by Jammeh's government because there is abundant evidence of people
who have fallen victim by just daring to be truthful, honest and competent.

Perhaps the folks at Foroyaa were also afraid of being detained because I
forwarded their report that contains this student's remarks, as well as some
information regarding his dissappearance to the L, and that is why that
puzzling discalimer was made by them.

The president made a great deal of posturing meeting with students and even
had some of the security forces or was it the police march with the students
for this commenoration etc, etc. but this young man is detained because of
truthful observations he remarked upon. This is just a continuation of the
mockery Jammeh directed at the Gambian people after these students were
murdered, and the same that he is still engaged in.

For those of us who are still trying to get some answers from Yaya Jammeh's
government, or who expect any sincere action from these guys, read this story
again, and reflect upon it. These are the reasons why some of us do not get
excited about the calculated and manipulative acting that this regime engages
in, because we already know that despite all they say and do, they are still
the same brutal dictatorship with the same dishonourable agenda. This
superceeds everything, and anything else is just play acting to defray the
heat of the moment.

Everything they do has an ulterior motive. The supposedly goodwill gestures
have culminated in the detention of a student whose only crime is that he
made some very truthful remarks about the April 11 massacre. And we still
have supposedly intelligent people trying to defend the actions of these
barbarians. Election time ploys and weak attempts to fool the people should
never be mistaken for sincerity. The Wollof have a saying that no matter how
much henna you put on the feet of a wolf, it will never mask her ugliness.

Yaya Jammeh and his gang of pirates know more than anyone else, that they are
dishonest, brutal, imcompetent, insincere and greedy, and that they have
chanced upon leadership positions that they see as passports to rob the
people, and they will do any and everything to maintain their positions. This
is the truth, and staying put where they are is the driving force behind
everything they do. That aim superceeds everything else for these people.
