Thank Alu, Habib, and Ebou for your kind words.  Habib, you are not missing anything.  Many people are saying this is a deliberate act to leave these people to die.  Everyone agrees that America could have responded quicker, but it didn't and the results were suffering, death, and hopelessness for many people.  Ebou, since the students are not among the poor, I think that more than likely they are aware of their options.  I'm saying this to say that my focus was intentionally one sided (only on the poor people that were left and the conditions that led to them being forsaken by this system).  However, it is good to hear that some of your friends are helping other students in need.
