Greetings:
First let me thank all those who participated in the chat with Lawyer
Darboe. After about 2 hours online, Mr. Darboe left the chatroom. We
followed up with phone calls to find out what happened and after almost an
hour of not being able to get through to Gambia, we finally got a hold of
him. Mr. Darboe stated that the electricity was cut off abruptly. After
turning their generator on, he said that he did return to the chat room
however he could not use his name as it seemed to be in use by someone else.
The discussion had to be halted as their was some suspicion on what Alpha
rightly reported as a possible 'fake'.
Ousainou will be back in the chat room tomorrow, Sunday same time: 4:00pm
(GMT), noon (EST - US).

Lessons learnt:
Because of the fast flowing manner of the chat room, it is important to
develop a good strategy to regulate the real time discourse. Prince
suggested a good idea which will be adopted. Questions will be fielded prior
to the beginning of the discussion.
Alpha's summary of the Q&A is excellent. Perhaps Alpha would be interested
to help again?
The chat room is not the most convenient forum to respond in great detail
to questions of policy and the like. The forum will also be utilized in
conjuntion with the chat room.
Opening lines of communication with leaders of the various political parties
is extremely vital at this critical juncture in our political history.
Gambians abroad need to be able to discuss freely with political candidates
for office.

Finally, let me apologize to all who did not get a chance to ask their
questions either due to the abrupt interruption or to own ineptitude.
Hopefully it will be better the next time around.
Latjor
