I have read with sorrow, the latest tirade from jammeh. I mean what he told
the youth action group when they went to meet him. For those who have been
absent from the gambia these past years, it will surprise you. But this is
the way jammeh has been speaking since his infamous address at independence
stadium. It was there that he threatened to bury journalists, whom he termed
enemies, six feet deep. I also remember another of his speeches at the
buffer zone in Tallinding. He threatened to kill detractors, crush them like
frogs and ...hang on..take them to 'jahan'nam'. At times he thinks he is God
or God's prophet.

The latest outburst merely confirms what we have known for a long time: that
yaya is a sycopath. I do not know the new constitution that well. However, I
do vaguely know that a section provides for the removal of the president if
he is mentally disable. Can't yaya be removed by this section folks? Because
of the way the youth action groups operate, i suspect a very bloody general
election, come 2001.

Meanwhile let us also pray for divine intervention.

Sulayman Jobarteh
