Saul,
If I am right, this is probably the second time this topic is brought to the
L. I have previously said that there is a list that exist, and I have a copy
dated in the early years of this government with my name and some of those
names you just mentioned.
However, I have also recently learnt from another source that it is not true.
I am not sure which to believe. I just wish they would have published such a
thing. I know a couple of people listed on that list who recently visited
home and came back with no reported problems. The Gambia government and no
government as a matter of fact, benefits from trying to eliminate her own
people. History tells us that it has always been used, but not too
successful. I can assure you that the Integlligent office at the President's
office now called the NIA had always had a list of Gambians they feel are
"threats" to the government.
NSS now NIA have been very instrumental listing political oppostions as
security threats. Therefore, if I am now told that the NIA is listing any
outspoken individuals as 'reactionaries' to the regime, I will not be
surprised. I only hope that such a list will not deviate anyone who wants to
go home or contribute anything to national development.

Ousman Bojang.
