PK Jarju On Nationwide Tour
Banjul, the Gambia

The outspoken leader of the National Reconciliation Party (NRP), Hon. Hamat
Bah has warned the North Bank Commissioner, Sulayman Keita and his chiefs to
stop harassing and intimidating opposition supporters in the division.

The NRP leader made the statement in the Badibus, during his nation-wide
campaign tour. Mr. Bah stated that both Commissioner Keita and the chiefs
wanted to create "a government that has no regards and respect for the
welfare of the people."

"Sulayman Keita and his chiefs should realise that Jammeh's days at the
State House are numbered and should, therefore be mindful of their deeds as
everything is on record," he said.

The NRP flag-bearer advised the chiefs against regarding opposition
sympathizers as a threat or obstacle to development, but should be seen as
colleagues who also have the interest of the nation at heart.

"People cannot be forced be to support a government that has brought nothing
but hardship and suffering to them," he said pointing out that as
representatives of the people at the local level, the NBD commissioner and
chiefs should not allow themselves to be used as puppets by a group of
people to cause havoc and ill treatment of their people.
