  Habib,

Am not so sure your cooler temperatures and short fasting days will be strong enough incentive to deter your in-laws (Badibunkas) from resorting to their legendary Ramadan shenanigans. They would take shower three or four times during the afternoon ,not only to cool off but also to be able to gulp some water without being noticed.Part of the reason I am so much in love with this month is that its such a challenge for these smart talkers. This is the only month of the year these folks are are lost for words.Welcome to the month of the brave!!

  Regards, Basss.

Are you serious? my in laws from badibou must really love food. Fortunately our fasting days are short (average time 5 am to 5 pm) here in the USA (cold weather helps too so less sweating) .

I tell you they must be distant cousins to the Saudis who sleep all day until asr prayers and close to iftar time, and then feed themselves all night until suhur (before fajr time) during Ramadan.

Here it has been confirmed today ,the moon was seen in Califonia a while ago so none of the Ceesays her can escape that verdict(laugh)

May we meet next year in good health

  best regards

  Habib

  >Folks,
  > Before wishing well and praying for the entire Gambia-L family on account of the advent of the Holy month of Ramadan,I would like to inform about the enormous amount of energy and effort expended by some folks in Basse,Badibou and Kartong these past few days to discourage others from looking for the new moon just so that Ramadan would be delayed for one more day.Its amazing the lenght to which some people are prepared to go for that extra afternoon bite one more time!!
  >
  >Somebody has even intimated that he has seen a Badibunka who was seriously thinking of taking a French Leave to Mauritania, the only country in the Moslem world not to consider Fasting a pillar of Islam, just so he also wouldn't have to go through the "ordeal".Some folks would do practically anything when the comfort of their stomachs is threatened.
  >
  >Delayed or not,its here nonetheless and I guess these folks must learn to live with it.Afterall, its only thirty days or less.Ramadan Kareem and peace and prosperity to everyone in this L-family.
