Reading this from the Observer is great news. Having Dr. Darboe on Sabbatical
leave with the University of the Gambia, Dr. Nyang visiting the University
and Dr. Sallah. This is the greatest news to come out of the University most
recently. There are so many Gambians outside of the country who could be of
such positive effects to the poor nation.
I must say how proud I am of these fellows. I have no doubt that these people
may not agree with all that might be going on in the Gambia and the whole of
Africa, but showing their support for the nation on the same stage tells a
lot. This is what I think being educated is all about. Certainly sitting
outside and making a lot of noise of things back home is good, but not good
enough. This is how people get respect.
To these gentlemen, I say bravo to you all. I hope this would be a stepping
stone and guidance to the African educated people based in the United States
and else where. The continent need people like you.
I happen to know both Dr. Darboe and Nyang personally, and I can't express to
you and your families how much proud some of us could be.
Please keep it up. We need anything you could contribute. We will never
forget you all.

Ousman Jallow Bojang.
