  Hi All,
This mail is an invitation to a new platform for Bantaba in Cyberspace. The URL
is: http://www.gambia.dk/forums/

Bantaba in Cyberspace is a web based community forum. It’s divided into several
forums with sub categories where discussions are done. Community members can
choose to participate in the forums they are interested in.

Currently the forums in the Bantaba are;

1. General Forum: where everything that does not fall under other categories is
discussed and debated. The guiding line is: Enlightenment, Diversity, Tolerance
and Sharing.

2. Politics Forum: a place for community members to discuss topics regarding
Gambian and world politics.

3. Announcements: this is a place for community members to post announcements
they feel are pertinent to everyone who visits the forums
.
4. Cultural Forum: a place where issues regarding culture are discussed. Here
you find a category where community members can share jokes from time to time
etc.

5. Education Forum: designed for the community to discuss education related
issues in order to provide intellectual, material, logistic and other support
to individuals and institutions in need at all levels of education in the
Gambia.

6. Tourism Forum: as very important employment and foreign exchange earning
sector for The Gambian people and the economy, this is a place for community
members to discuss topics regarding promotion of an alternative tourism by
encouraging ECO-TOURISM, which seems to be the trend for many potential
tourists today.

Suggestions are still welcome for more topics.

Registration is not required to view current topics at the Bantaba; however,
registration is required if you wish to post a new topic or reply to an
existing topic. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. The only
required fields are your Username, which may be your real name or a nickname,
and a valid e-mail address. Each UserName is unique just like your e-mail
address.
You should follow the instruction in the e-mail sent to you the first time you
register. You should not waste time trying to register with an e-mail address
that does not exist because your registration will not be processed if you do
not activate your account. Cookies have to be enabled in your web browser too.

Bantaba use cookies to store the following information: the last time you
logged in, your UserName and your Encrypted Password. These cookies are stored
on your hard drive. Cookies are not used to track your movement or perform any
function other than to enhance your use of these forums. If you have not
enabled cookies in your browser, many of these time-saving features will not
work properly. Also, you need to have cookies enabled if you want to enter a
private forum or post a topic/reply. You may delete all cookies set by these
forums in selecting the "logout" button at the top of any page.

There is a link at the top called "FAQ" where there is more information.

Bantaba is not a substitute for Gambia-L since it’s neither a mailing list nor
an online newspaper.
I think it’s still great to have mails from a mailing list and I hope the
Gambia-l managers are not sleeping about finding a new home for Gambia-L before
the end of January 2006 when we should be celebrating the 10th anniversary of
the L.

Welcome to The Bantaba in Cyberspace at: http://www.gambia.dk/forums/

regards,
