Yes I'm afraid it only works from the UK.  I also hear that Gamtel's 10
year "rule/domination/franchise (call it what you will) over telecoms in
The Gambia is approaching it's end.  Whether this is true, and what it
means I don't know, as Gamtel is owned by the Government as far as I know.

But things are getting a little better in some respects.  There is now an
on-line phone directory on the Gamtel web site - http://www.gamtel.gm  Not
certain how long it has been there or how up to date it is, but it seems
extensive
