Conteh,
Ousainou Darboe did the correct thing. One should also blame his advicers, for
accepting the last minute decision from Roberts. They`ve been hypnotized to
accept the decision, after they have queried, about the 30,000 voters from
Casamance.
The biggest error from the opposition was WHY DID THEY ACCEPT ROBERTS DECISION
TO ALLOW VOTERS WHO WERE NOT IN THE REGISTER TO VOTE ? They should have asked
for time to review the decision, even if it worth changing the voting date. The
fact that they did not do this, and accepted to contest the elections, then they
should concede defeat. " The ignorance of the law is no excuse". This MUST be
one of the main factors which made Ousainou to concede defeat. Secondly, their
disunity contributed to all these factors. I am not going to point any finger to
anyone, but the complications to agree on terms for the coalition was just as
the proverb goes " Nyam bi leku mako, haaral ma tilimalko" meaning, ( I did not
eat the food, let me put some dirt inside it ).
Thirdly, their lack of disunity confused the voters, and they were seen as
greedy and power hungry people. Forthly, the coming back of the ex-PPP into the
coalition was not good for them. The AFPRC made an advantageous use of them.
Fifth, many of their supporters were under terror, and were afraid of reprisal
if Jammeh looses the elections. So, they finally voted for Jammeh in the name of
peace. Pls.let us not blame the man, he should be honoured, for his job well
done. He saved our country from trouble. This is my own view. I stand to be
corrected.
Thanks
Elhajj.
