Tell them to go shove it!

Last Friday, African Justice Ministers convened in Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia, and their deliberation resulted in the downright condemnation
of the audacious practice of indictment of ex-African leaders by self
appointed human right promoters in Western capitals.

One wonders why it had to take this long for our Ministers to realize
the "neo-colonialist" intent of these so-called right groups. As if it
were not their ancestors who meted-out the most heinous of
“human-rights” crimes on our ancestors!

What makes it even more ridiculous is that these bold and zealous judges
and their backers target African leaders whom they have personal
vendetta against. Criminals or not, the fact remains that it is far more
than an affront to the independence and sovereignty of African states
for neo-colonialists to be talking about bringing African leaders to
justice.

Those arrogant French Judges shouldn’t be blamed much, for they were
blinded by their ignorance of the changing situation in African
awareness. They were indeed motivated by previous cases, where Africans
connived with their neo-colonialist masters to undermine other Africans.
The message for them, however, is that Africa can never be re-colonized.
As the conference of Ministers demands, all eyes are on the African
Commission. This act of insolence must be stemmed.

Do not get it wrong though, no body argues that people should not be
made to answer for the crime they commit - be they African leaders or
what have you. However, it is not for any body outside Africa to dictate
to the African people as to who goes on trial and who does not.

Charles Taylor, for instance, might have been a bad man, depending on
how you view it, but he couldn’t have been as sinful as PW Botha or Ian
Smith - these two were blood-thirsty criminals with a big “C”.

The victims of these two white criminal “leaders” were cajoled into
believing that the best thing for them was to let sleeping dogs lie -
and let these criminals live their lives out in luxury (shame on Mandela
and Mugabe - though we still love them both!).

While thousands of US dollars have been spent worthlessly on that
so-called truth and reconciliation commission (monies that could have
been spent to raise the living standard of their victims by paying
compensation), we were coerced into surrendering Charles Taylor (shame
on Nigeria!).

Forget these bogus European judges. What an affront to Africa. These
little Belgians butchered millions of our Congolese brothers. The French
butchered a million Algerians and even recently interfered in Algeria’s
democracy leading to Civil War.

Yes, the French caused that because they did not want the Islamists to
win the election fairly. Just as the Europeans are starving the
Palestinians now because Hamas won a democratic election. What
hypocrisy! What outrage! The African Commission should tell these
hypocritical imperialists to get lost.
