Subject: Racism in Sweden
Date sent: Sat, 30 Nov 2002 19:47:43 +0000

The last Swedish parliamentary and local government elections in september 2002
sadly highlighted the climax of the hidden racialist attytude of the Post-Olof
Palme Sweden.

During the past twenty years, we have witnessed a steady increase in
racially motivated crimes in the society renowned as Immigrant and Refugee
Friendly. Gerard Gibeyo allias Patrick Nadji from Ivory Coast was mordered by a
nazzi thurg, Farah Mboge from the Gambia bitten and left to die on the snow,
Adonis from the Gambia bitten and partially lamed and other africans harrassed
in schools, workplaces and night clubs among other places.

The anti-foreigner oriented parties gained over 40 local government seats in
southern Sweden. This has lead to general confussion and frustation by a great
deal of the population.

The Liberal "People´s Party" despite having a parliamentary candidate with her
roots from the Democratic Republic of the Congo among others found itself
attracting most of the anti-Immigrant and anti-Refugee voters of the mainstream
parties particularly from the conservative "Moderata Samlings Party" by using a
nasty propaganda tool, The Swedish Language". They proposed that those
immigrants seeking swedish nationallity must master the language in oder to be
considered. Thus creating an environment of remorse and fury.

Members of the conservative "Moderata Samlings Party" were cauht on hidden
camera uttering disgusting anti-Immigrant and anti-Refugee statements. One of
them Christer Ewe said that muslims in sweden are good at having many children
and using the social security system. He furthermore said that he is tied of
africans cause he was in an african country and the way they could
differentiate between a human being and a monkey was to stretch out a banana.
If a hand comes, you know that it is a human being and if a foot appears then
you know that it is a monkey. He also said that he met FROG MOTHER from the
Gambia being followed by a stream of six kids trying to speak swedish.

These appaulling and denegatory statements led to Christer Ewe´s dismissal fro
the Moderata Samlings Party on friday the 29th november and a number of
politicians resigned from their political reponsibilities while most stayed on.

In certain communs, the right wing parties are refusing to cooperate with
the socialdemocratic party in order to fight off the racist parties.

Issues like Solidarity which has always been at center stage of swedish
politics has reduced to the backstage or completely absent in the manifestos of
some payties.

Nevertheless, some african candidates got into the local governments namely
Momodou Sahir Drammeh and Kemo Ceesay (Gambia)for Social-democratic workers
party, Fatima Nur and Ibrahim (Somlia)for the conservative "Moderata Samlings
Party" and one Joe frans originally from Ghana became an MP of the
Social-democratic workers party and Nyamko Sabuni for the from DR of CONGO MP
for the Liberal "People´s Party" to name a few.

The struggle for justice and mutual solidarity continues.
