OPINION Saving what belongs to us! Letters

---------------------------------

December 23, 2005
Saving what belongs to us!Dear Sir,
For one reason or the other, I wish not to disclose my name. Firstly, I wish to commend you for the great and humble service to the people of Tha Gambia. You have really lived up to expectation and Allah will guide you through all times.

We all have seen what his excellency Yayha Jammeh has done to our motherland The Gambia. I am 17 years of age but I follow everything that is going through in The Gambia. So many people and families have suffered in the hands of the APRC and regime. I for one happened to one of them.

My whole dream of being something tomorrow was taken away from me because of Yayha Jammeh but I believe in Allah that is why I for one, will fight my way to the top.

The killing of innocent Deyda Hydara is still a burden that disturbs me because he was like a father to me. I happened to know his youngest son and when this tragic situation happened, I wept like he was a father of mine. Because I know my friend will never get to call anybody Daddy, but justice shall prevail upon the murderers of Mr, Deyda Hydara.

Therefore Mr Mbai, I am making this promise to both you and the Gambian people that ( inshaallah) Allah has a day for me in years to come that I will become the President of the third republic of The Gambia and so being, will stand for the young generation, the poor and needy and the our dear mothers: Because I know how it feels for a dream of yours to be taken away from you. I will surely dismiss the rubbish and so- called second Republic and introduce a new constitution indicating that I shall only sit in office for a maximum period of 10 years (5 years between elections) and so will any president. This law will prevent greedy people like Yayha Jammeh who thinks that he was born to be president forever. I met him once with his wife and this man is just her for himself but not the people of The Gambia. Also, the most important task of mine will be to appoint young Mr. Hydara to any post that will require him to do justice to his father's killers. All of this am saying will one day
come true and we shall all witness ( inshallah ). Therefore lets all just go our knees and pray to the Almighty and believe that destiny will prevail and greatness of the Gambian people is inevitable.

I wish all The Gambia and her people a Happy Christmas and an advanced Happy Edul- Adha.

Love Gambia

---------------------------------

Good Day Sir,
First of all, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the great service you are doing for the Gambia. I just want you to know that it is greatly appreciated. I know you are not looking for accolades maybe because you think its your duty, but thank you nonetheless, and keep up the good work.

Do not listen to distractors, whose massage are negative, And, who do not have the Gambia's best interest at heart. Justice in the end will prevail, it always does. If history is any indicator, "INSALLAH", Gambian will be vindicated. Now is not the time to sit by the wayside, Gambians in every walk of life, should galvanised themselves to perpetuate, and emulate the very fine example that you are setting for us.

If the story about the potential power struggle that is about within the NADD leadership should hold true, we say to them to cease and desist from whatever personal ambitions they may in the interest of the Gambian people! Thank you.

Mboob, Ibrima, Superior Court

Bravo Mr. Mbaye job well done, keep it up. I happy to shed light on the current situation in our beloved nation. Gambians time has come to say no to the tyrannical rule of Yaya Jammeh and his cos, come 2006 general election we say bye to Jammeh s government.

Imagine since 1994 July 22 how many Gambians lost their lives by bullets, by torturing, and depression, what kind of a leader have we? Brothers became enemies, likewise sisters, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, best of friends and even husbands and wives, not to mention how many people were dismissed from office unlawfully, Gambians do you want to stay in this kind of condition come 2006 election? No of cause. For eleven years we have been living in misery, our lives has been threatened, no freedom of expression no freedom of speech, we have been oppressed, depressed and even killed.

I could still recalled 22 Oct 96 broad day light when I was squeezed in a Pajero alongside my friend Saikou Jammeh who s now living in UK at Gun point by so called NIA officials ,because of we were with UDP. We spent eight days incommunicado, sleeping in a bear floor with one meal a day ,no shower ,full of mosquitoes no ventilation or GUD it was horrible. Those responsible for my arrest I cant still remember them, Alfa Jamanka, Babucar Touray (empty) Babucar cham and a forth person whom I forget his name but can recognise him facially. Yaya Jammeh, it is only the MIGHTYNESS OF ALMIGHTY ALLAHU SUBUHANNA WATAALAH THAT HAS NO BOUNDRY, other than that everything has its end .WATCHOUT your time have come enough is enough and no more. BRAVO comrades in struggle.

LAMIN Kurang, SWEDEN
