EDITORIAL:BE LOYAL TO THE GAMBIA AND NOT JAMMEH!!!
EDITORIAL
The Gambian military is undergoing serious evolution these days. Jammeh is confused as who is loyal and who is not. Since the so called faked coup attempt, men of the army had been subjected to routine transfers, arrest, detention and in some occasions alleged execution. The fate of former NIA Chief and four other security detainees remain mysterious.

This government is not keen at discussing the whereabouts of these feared dead detainees. Our Wednesday’s lead story on the death of soldier Ebrima Camara, speaks volume about the type of administration we have in Banjul. Camara we are told was murdered, following his refusal to be part of Yahya’s hit and kill style. The government of the day has never disputed our reports on the alleged killing of Daba Marena and others. Their non reaction goes to show that Yahya and his cronies have something to hide, which will no doubt come to light sooner or later. The testimonies, we received from the late Camara’s family is the tip of the iceberg as there are more revelations to come.
Army Chief Lang Tombong Tamba and his Deputy Peter Singhateh should refused to be used by Yahya Jammeh who in most cases sacrificed his workers, when the things get tougher. In as much, as you want to serve Jammeh, you should remember that governments come and go but the state remains.
You are not better than those killed, arrested and forcefully exiled by this government. If Yahya can rebelled against his own uncle Abdoulie Kujabi, nobody in the army including other security forces is safe today from his betrayal schemes. You should serve this mad President with caution. He doesn’t practice what he preaches. Jammeh wants to go down with everybody as change is inevitable.
Intelligence leaks suggested that the detention of Ngorr Secka, Foday Barry, Musa Dibba and other leading security agents was meant to prevent them from collecting intelligence on the death of Daba and others. That these security detainees are well trained and Jammeh was not comfortable about their presence at the agency where torture and forced confession is being applied these days.
That Jammeh is preventing them from witnessing the atrocities being carried out by his chickas formally called the “Green boys.“ Jammeh we are told, is increasingly worried about the intelligence leakage on the death of Daba and others. This information was leaked by his own servants. Jammeh should remember that his personal body guard is not as loyal as he thinks. Everybody in the country is pissed off with the system these days. Issuing dubious disappearance press releases will not solve the problem. Bereaved families want to have access to their loved ones and offer them decent burial.
Tamba and Peter should watch their backs and know that they are serving an unstable President who survived on lies and deception. Lang Tombong is widely respectable in The Gambia. To avoid being accused of conspiracy, he should resign and leave Jammeh to run his own show. If Lang cannot resign, then he should tell his brother the unpleasant truth. These killings, false arrest, detentions and persecution should end.
Jammeh is suffering from crisis of confidence. He is being haunted by his evil deeds. Our men in uniform should put Gambia’s interest first and avoid being used to oppress our peace loving citizens. Jammeh is a bad citizen who want to drown with all decent Gambians. Nobody is saying that you should not serve your country, but don’t allow to be used by Jammeh.
Jammeh is playing divide and rule politics. He will call Lang and said bad things about Peter and the next day he will invite Peter and do the same thing. This is the type of leader we have in today’s Gambia. He succeeded in knocking people’s heads together over the years. Gambians should be weary of Yahya Jammeh. He do not love our country and its people.
We questioned his religious beliefs. A good Muslim don’t behave the way Jammeh is behaving. He lied, steal, and deceived his fellow citizens on a daily basis. Jammeh is not a Muslim as he portrayed himself. A good Muslim do not lie, steal harm or deceive his citizens. He is mocking God by carrying those praying beads and Kingman ship sticks. He is a non believer. Call him a pageant , you make no mistake, call him an idol worshipper, you make no mistake. This man offered rituals just to stay in power. We will get to that in our next write ups.
Our men in uniform should always remember that it us Gambians who are paying them and not Yahya Jammeh. Jammeh was born poor just like many other Gambians. For any soldier or service man to believe that Yahya is paying him is making the greatest mistake. Be loyal to The Gambia and not Yahya Jammeh as a person.
The interest of the country overrides the interest of one individual. Lang Tombog Tamba and Peter Singhateh, please take note of this undisputable fact. The whole world is watching you. You stand to be accused of aiding and abetting the dictatorship if you allowed your men to be used by Yahya to oppress the citizenry. Our country is witnessing trying times. We should all serve as each others brother’s keeper. Yahya is a menace and a serial killer for that matter. God safe The Gambia and her people.
